Nottingham Station
Railway Refurbishment

Nottingham Station is a Grade 2 Listed Building and was described in the Railway Heritage of Britain as ostentatious and proudly Edwardian. The Station was opened in 1904 and provided a major contribution to transport facilities in the city of Nottingham. Seymour Harris were appointed by Bovis/Railtrack to prepare designs and detailed specifications for the refurbishment of the operating areas of the station including the re-building of the main dispersal bridge and staircases. Seymour Harris were also appointed by a Partnership Group, including Central Trains, Midland Mainline, Rail track, Nottingham City Council and the Railway Heritage Trust to design a new Travel Centre off the Main Concourse; new platform waiting and toilet facilities, new platform surfaces, new platform canopy glazing, and redecoration works to station buildings and the existing concourse.
