Downe Manor Primary was completed in 2004 as part of the original Ealing PFI_1. The school is a 420 (2FE) primary school within the Northolt area of the borough.
The project was designed within the U-shaped plan of the existing school on the site and delivered whilst the original school was in occupation. The school is single storey and comprises KS teaching wings - four class bases per wing, including toilets and intervention spaces. These classrooms face onto the outdoor play areas and the sport pitches.
The support spaces, such as administration, halls and plant spaces face on to the main street with car parking between the building and street.
The building is a mix of london stock brickwork or render at low level with composite cladding panels at high level below projecting eaves to provide a play between the mass of the interior spaces.
