Working with Kier Construction, Seymour Harris lead a successful bid to build three University Technical Collages in the Midlands. The bid was based around Black Country UTC which has its specialties in Engineering and Science.
The UTC was one of the first to open and currently occupies the former Sneyd Community School in Walsall. Seymour Harris' scheme dramatically remodels the existing building and adds significant new build workshops, entrance and learning street, which connects the college to the co-located West Midlands Construction UTC.
The external composition is simple, working with the geometry of the existing buildings but using contrasting, clean and precise materials to reflect the engineering specialty and raise the profile of the site.
