New build family home on a steeply sloping site in rural Solihull. Currently at Planning stage.
Replacing a poorly designed and extended bungalow, the house is conceived as two distinct elements [living and sleeping] divided by a central circulation route and unified by a continuous folded roof plane.
The mass of the house sits at the level of the rear garden and atop a basement garage and entrance lobby. Ground and first floor balconies offer panoramic views of the surrounding farm land, with natural light introduced from front, rear and roof, illuminating the open plan living space.
