The practice were Lead Consultant for the Master Planning of the 32,000 seater multi purpose development, now known as the Ricoh Arena and home to Coventry City Football Club. Built on the former Foleshill gas works, the development includes exhibition spaces, a 71 bedroom hotel, banqueting facilities, health and fitness club, parking for 2000 cars as well as related support facilities.
We were then appointed as Architects for the Exhibition element of the complex. Following sponsorship and branding as the Jaguar Exhibition Hall this provides a total of 6,000 sq m of fully serviced, flexible exhibition space capable of being divided into smaller units of 2,000 and 4,000 sq m. The column free space is air conditioned, heated and sound proofed and provides under floor facilities including fibre optics for exhibitors. Alongside this, the practice also designed the shell space to house the UK's largest casino, operated by Isle of Capri.
The hotel element of the development incorporated prefabricated pre-plumbed bathroom pools as ensuits to each of the guest bedrooms.
